Steps to carry concrete cube testing

1. Mix the concrete as per ur design mix

2. Pour to test cube mold, dimensions of 150x150x150mm and the use hand vibrator to conpact it

3. Take siz sample of this cube.

4. Test 3 sample on 7 days, check if you have recive 70% strength from your deaign mix

5. Test remaining 3 samples on 28th day and see if you have achived your design strength.

Types of loads explained

There are different types of loads that act on a building structure, depending on the nature, magnitude, and direction of the forces. These loads can be broadly classified into four groups: dead loads, live loads, impact loads, and environmental loads.

- **Dead loads** are the constant loads that result from the self-weight of the structure and its permanent components, such as walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, etc. Dead loads are calculated by multiplying the density of the material with the dimensions of the structural element.

- **Live loads** are the variable loads that result from the occupancy and use of the structure, such as people, furniture, equipment, vehicles, etc. Live loads depend on the function and location of the structure and are usually specified by codes and standards.

- **Impact loads** are the sudden or dynamic loads that result from the application of a force over a short period of time, such as moving vehicles, vibrating machinery, dropped weights, etc. Impact loads cause larger stresses in the structure than those produced by gradually applied loads of the same magnitude.

- **Environmental loads** are the loads that result from natural phenomena or human activities that affect the structure, such as wind, snow, rain, earthquake, temperature, fire, etc. Environmental loads vary in intensity and frequency depending on the location and climate of the structure.

Types of loads on a structure beams

Point load; its when u have a load acting on a certain point, example as above.

Uniform distribution load; its when u have a load laying across the beam, such as a wall.

Triangular distribution load; it can be a load that is heavy at one side, for example roof or a container on a truck whihc is half loaded.

TYPES OF LOAD that can act on a building

As explained above, building have its own materials weight acting on it and refer as dead load.. than you have live load, for example human being walking around n humping around, these loads acts mostly to gravity and knws as vertical loads.

Horizontal loads are more natural causes unless your building been hit by a bus.

MWSC water meter trench details

For Male city of Maldives there is only one compnay who supply clean water to houses which is called MWSC (male water and sewage company) 

Basically they need a trech that can connect all main connections to domestic and commercial meters, it can either be in concrete or other. Width 20 inch (500mm) depth of 18 inch (450mm) and average distance between each meter to be 150mm apart.

once this meter trech is complete they will come and do a site survery and install water meters for usage.

How to design a stair for a exsisting site

It is a challenging thing that the actual site and drawings doesnt match.. so lets see the steps i follow in order to get a stair case right on spot to go to top floor.

first took the measurements of tge opening on the top floor.. length and width. Measured with a measuring tape on site ans drew on picture so that later when i go to office ill know what im doing.

too the slab thickness and floor height from top to top.. so that its easy to find no of steps required. 

Than took a pic from below floor so that i can visualize when i go back to office.

above is the desing whihc came best for the place, did some autocad drawing and this whats it looks like, than next is fabrication time at workshop

by using 100x50mm square hollow section made the main frame and steps with 50x50mm angle pcs.. step is 50mm thick solid wood.

 installed.. looks good   now its time to screw the wood steps and your all set to go uptge stairs.

time to deisng mezaarine to ground level as well

First we took a bench mark of 1m from the out side finishing level.. than marked it on the wall below the mezzanine floor. From that didba scale design.

For motor cycle front to be 135x80mm back to be 180x110mm with font size 25 n 35mm.. for the 4 wheelers its 280x160mm on both sides

Design of On Street Parking Facilities

angle parking than on those with parallel parking It should be noted that the dimensions

given in Figure below are for automobiles When parking bays are to be provided for trucks

and other types of vehicles, the dimensions should be determined on the basis of the

dimensions of the specific vehicle being considered.

flat roof construction and waterproofing

on a roof with a standing wall, its best to have a capping beams or a coping with concrete which can help direct water flow.. a capping with a 50mm edge out side the wall.

for a concrete roof skirting must be done atlease 100mm high.. liquid bitumen is one the best water proofing matrial that is been used.

 

As below.. many layers of material is best specially for a wooden roof but if its a concrete slab its not that nessary for this must of roofing felt or bitunen layers since concrete it self is water proof.

Even if its a concrete or wood, even though its a flat rood it need atleast 3% slope .. if not as below there are high chances of water leaking.

Still the world tallest building is in dubai UAE burj khalifa standing 828 meter., next Shanghai China Shanghai tower, mecca saudi arabia with mekka clock tower standing 601 meter.

Mostly European haven't made much progress in climbing the world tall towers.. kinda disappointing with what they claims.

Gantry crane to lift cement blocks

I notice the new workers are too lazy, so decided to make a something that can grabe the cement block pallets and go. cement blocks was about 80 kg in weight.. so it was also kind of heavy to move all day.

Seems to work well with the grabbing design.. so next was to design a gantry crane that can move this pallet one side to other.

Above pic is using 2 lazy worker to grab the pallet n stack it. 🤦‍♂️ time consuming n dependable on them, not practical for a production line.

After doing this gantry crane to carry the cement blocks we was able to handle it much faster and only 1 worker is required.

Leveling a steel H beam and grouting

Steel H beam UC254x254x89 is been erected and leveled and grouted.

Step 1. Clean area were you need to grout well.

Step 2. Put a timber covering around the area.. lets say 50mm bigger

Step 3. lift the H beam and put it on the bolts/ anchore rods and check if it fits.

Step 4.. once your sure on it.. keep the beam on a side bit far from the work area.. lets say about 2 meters, so that you can have space for mixing the grout and other preprations.

Step 5. Mix the non shrink grouting with water untill it mix well.. im not gonna post a pic of brand or packet.. no advertising 😋

Step 6. Pour the mix on top of the prepared area

Step 7. Put the steel H beam on top. But before that make sure to put a bitumen sheet on top.

Step 8. Observe with level instrument for this case they used a Sprite level.

9. Than tight the nuts until level shows its buble is to level.

Tip; if you look at the above vedio, you will notice that they have put a steel packing or steel sim or steel packer under the H beam steel column. This is that when the grouting set it may squeez the whole grout out.. and it will make it easy to level.

How to properly maintain your steel beams and ms sheets

Below is a step by step guide on how you can treat your steel beams or ms sheets which are not coated in the manufacture process.

Step 1.
Clean the rust using wire brush or cup brusg or sander paper, if the ruat is to atrong u can try chipping it or sand balst it

Cup brushing it with grinder

Step 2.
Clean the sut with air blowing and apply petrol ot some sort of dust particles cleaner

Step 3.
Apply primer paint.. red oxide paint or aluminium paint

Apply red oxide  

Step 4.
Apply finish paint, 2 coat of paint. In this project we use nippon paint.
